Why a Million Dollar Dinner?

Each of us joined Rotary for our own reasons. For many it’s to make a difference in our community and even in the world and for that special feeling that you know that your life has helped make the world a better place.

It is with that in mind that Rotarians of District 6540 are joining together, for the first time ever, to hold a MILLION DOLLAR DINNER to benefit the Rotary Foundation. That means that we seek to raise at least $1,000,000 in new dollars across our District within this Rotary Year. We may not all be millionaires, but we all can participate to uncover “A Million Ways to Make a Difference!” This historic campaign will benefit our District and the world beyond for generations to come.

Rotarians (and friends of Rotary) who make a qualifying gift by January 15, 2019 will be invited to join us for a grand celebration the following month. Your support is invited through making or increasing your Major Donor, Arch Klumph or Bequest Society status with a contribution or planned commitment of at least $10,000. The methods of contributing are numerous and can be paid out over multiple years, making the campaign accessible to nearly all Rotarians. Table Captains throughout the District are available to assist those who want to make such a significant contribution and build our Districts legacy of service (reference another tab in this Website – Table Captains & Their Clubs for these Table Captains).

Yes, as one person you can make a real impact and together we can make a major difference. The final celebration will be on February 9, 2019 at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend with very special guest speaker – Rotary International President Barry Rassin.

There are vast multitudes of ways to accomplish your goal to attend, so please seek out your Table Captain to discuss those options. We hope to see as many Rotarians as possible there. Together, we will celebrate our success in strengthening communities in so many more ways!
